In these works I see the rabbit as the guide the knowing self. The rabbit knows how to navigate wonderland Alice follows the rabbit there. Wanting to trap the rabbit relates to the desire to know to have the certainty that the rabbit has. It’s a paradox because catching the rabbit with a trap like this involves maiming it. When I have a problem or need to clear my head I often go for a walk along the beach. Of course walking along the beach is of no help if you drag the rabbit trap with you and this relates to the idea of internal place or taking the place with you as a state of being. We all know people with beautiful external environments where they are unhappy despite the beauty that surrounds them.
