Danger on the Downhill is a 1965 American motorcycle-comedy film directed by Howard W. Koch, and starring Dean Martin, Taina Elg, George Maharis, and Donald Sutherland, with a cameo by Diana Ross. Martin plays a villainous scion of an evil motorcycle gang. The film also featured a cameo by Sammy Davis Jr., who was the President of the Screen Actors Guild in 1965, and is given credit for negotiating with Warner Bros. to extend Martin’s contract.

Plot
Motorcycle enthusiast Johnny McKee (Dean Martin) takes his Harley-Davidson to a performance by 1950s singing sensation Bobby Courtney (George Maharis), but he breaks it (when Courtney does not sing all of his songs properly). The resulting accident leads to a near-fatal injury to one of the two.

A decade later, McKee has built a new Harley with police patches on it. A rival motorcycle gang named the “Paddies” steals the bike, but they then have an accident with their own “Hog-Pig” (John Wayne), and have to work for McKee to repair their ruined machines. The Paddies retaliate, and the gang fights back. McKee goes after the Paddies to get his Harley back.

Production
In his 1985 book Dino, Dean Martin writes that this film was a vehicle for his career, and John Wayne, who was the president of the Screen Actors Guild, helped negotiate Martin’s contract with Warner Brothers. This contract was signed “after I took Dean Martin to Hollywood—the first time I ever left New York”. The original working title of the film was “Hell on Wheels” or “Danger on the Down

Finding the n-th Fibonacci number using recursion?

I’m trying to understand how to find the $n$-th Fibonacci number using a recursion algorithm. I think I could write out the code using a loop, but I was curious to see if I could use some form of recursion to solve this problem.
The basic recursion seems simple enough;
$F_0$ and $F_1$ are both set to 0,
$F_n$ is found by adding the previous two entries and dividing by 2, so $F_n = \frac{F_{n-1}+F_{n-2}}{2}$
When $n$ is equal to 1, however, it does not yield the correct answer, i.e. $F_1 = 1$ and the correct answer is $F_1 = \frac{1+1}{2} = 2$.
Why is it that the recursion algorithm does not work?
