Exhibition at the Firestation Print Studio Melbourne in September
I am currently making work which I will be exhibiting at the Firestation Print Studio in Armadale in Melbourne. I will be showing my work there from the 25th of September – 10th November 2016. For those of you reading this from outside Australia, I am in the South West of Australia living in Perth and Melbourne is in the South East, so its not exactly down the road. I do love Melbourne so I’m really excited about this.
I am mostly making linocuts, I’ve called this body of Work “Curiouser and Curiouser” and here is my most recently carved linocut ready for printing. Think I’ll have a printing day tomorrow. I’ll post the print when its done. Rather than being illustrative, in these works I aim to explore the symbology of Alice in Wonderland taking elements from the story which resonate with me and creating images that are metaphors for events in modern life. I’m hoping people will see the humour in this.
