If you are in Perth (Western Australia) this exhibition opens at Atwell Gallery Canning Highway Alfred Cove near the North Lake Road Lights.
It has around 70 examples of printmaking, below are the two I will have in the exhibition which opens tomorrow afternoon.
This one is titled Sailing to Byzantium, from the W B Yeats Poem of the same name.
This drypoint was inspired by one of the Songs of the same name written by Paul Kelly. One of the lines from the song says “I thought I heard her say we are the ghosts” I don’t know what the intention behind this song was but what I gained from it was very much about relationships. The depth of knowing another intimately and how in that space emotions are shared. Also it had a distinctly other world feeling dreams, ghosts, a movement between spirit and the physical. So this is the image I came up with in response.
These two images are both available framed and unframed. $380 framed and $280 unframed. email me for more information or leave comments below. Might see you at the opening tomorrow. see more from this series on my website. http://shanajames.com/drypoint-prints/
